Lahnstein is situated among beautiful mountain ranges at the conluence of the Rhine and Lahn Rivers. It is the tranquil Lahn valley as well as the hustle and bustle of the busy Rhine that gives this town its unique character. There are also numerouse old and medieval buildings showing Lahnsteins great historic past. Lahnsteins towns fortifications 1324, St Johannis church 1130, Burg Lahneck 1245, old town hall 1540 just to name a few.
From the Historic city of Koblenz, the river Rhine flows south in majestic sweeping bends through the most magical of river landscapes in Europe.
This is a land of magical castles overlooking the river like a string of pearls and wonderful half-timbered villages snuggled along the vine clad banks and steep valley sides. Some of Europe's best and most popular wines are produced here.

The Weiland is a family owned hotel, originaly built in 1851. Since then the hotel has remained in the family and developed a tradition of Rhenish hostpitality. The Name Weiland stands for tradition, elegant ambience, international cuisine and regional delicacies, personal service and warm hostpitalty.
All rooms are individualy decorated, thus each room has its own charm. All with private facilities, Shower/WC, TV, hairdryer & safe.
There is a separate Mediterranean Restaurant the Terra-Vino in the Hotel, where you can book an evening meal.
The hotel bar is modern and bright and offers a wide range of regional beverages. You can enjoy draught beer and wine strait from the barrel, alongside other alcohol and soft drinks.
Day 1: Home - Germany & Lahnstein
After boarding your luxury coach, we head straight down to Dover for our morning ferry to Calais. We drive through France, Belgium, with comfort stops on route, then crossing the border into Germany, where we will stop for food. Arriving in Lahnstein early evening, where we will spend the next 3 nights on bed & breakfast.
Day 2: Trier
After breakfast we head for the border town of Trier in Germany. Amid the medieval surroundings of the Hauptmarkt square and in front of the mighty Cathedral, 95 festive decorated wooden huts create an enchanting Christmas atmosphere in Germany's oldest town, renowned for its UNESCO status and its 2000 year old Roman Porta Nigra gate. At Trier's Weihnachtsmarkt you will find a great variety of Christmas articles, ranging from Christmas decoration, wooden toys, candles, hand blown or engraved glassware, up to gift articles and ceramics. After a busy day, we return back to the hotel.
Day 3: Rhine Valley Tour
Departing after breakfast, we travel along the Rhine, passing many of its historic castle's. We have a stop at the Loreley rock where this legendary mystic nymph lived; beautiful views of the Rhine Valley can be seen from here. Travelling further up the beautiful Rhine with its characteristic castles and wine villages, to Rudesheim, where there are over 120 festively decorated chalets, representing 12 nations, selling all kinds of gifts from candles and jewellery to wood figures and festive foods, and there is an extensive music performance programme. Along with all this you have the little shops, there is also Siegfried's music museum, well worth a visit (entrance at own expense) or maybe the cable car that goes over the vineyards to the Neiderwald Monument high above the town. There are many Restaurants and Beer Keller's for your comfort. Later this afternoon we drive back down the Rhine to our hotel in Lahnstein.
Day 4: Lahnstein - Home
After an early breakfast and the cases have been loaded on the coach, we say farewell to our hosts at the Weiland Hotel and depart for Calais. We will make stops along the way for coffee and lunch. Arriving at Calais for our ferry/tunnel crossing to Dover. Arriving home mid to late evening.
