Tour Itinerary

Day 1: Depart Local Area

After boarding your luxury coach, you make your way to Bury St Edmonds with time to explore and have lunch. We will then continue our journey to arrive at Potters Resort Five Lakes, where you will spend the next 4 night's full board. Time to explore and enjoy the facilities before dinner.

Day 2: Day at Leisure

Time to enjoy all the facilities that Potters have to offer.

Day 3: Cressing Temple Barns

This morning's tour takes you to Cressing Temple Barns. There's certainly an abundance of treats to enjoy when you visit this historical venue. The beautifully unique buildings and gardens that encompass Cressing Temple Barns attract interest from across the country. Given to the Knights Templar in 1137, the Grade-I listed barley and wheat barns, built in the 13th century, are among the oldest timber barns and the few surviving Templar buildings in England. Another Grade-I listed timber-framed building, the Granary, built sometime just after 1575, is the largest granary in Essex. The Walled Garden has been faithfully reconstructed as a Tudor pleasure garden, one of a few in the country. You will then return to Potters for your lunch and enjoy the rest of the day.

Day 4: Colchester

Dating back to the Roman times, it's no big secret that Colchester is Britain's oldest recorded town. Colchester was so developed that they had their own Mint - meaning many ancient coins were made in Colchester, and the Colchester Mint even helped the Royal Mint in London produce all the Roman coins made for Britain! Colchester is the former capital of England and Britain's First City. It has a rich and varied history that can be explored through its museums, ruins, and by walking its streets. It has particularly strong connections to both its Roman heritage, and the scars left by the Siege of Colchester during the English Civil War. In 21st Century Colchester, you will find a thriving and expanding city with plenty to keep you entertained. The city has a strong cultural identity, with numerous galleries, theatres and arts venues as well as a bustling city centre with plenty of restaurants and shopping opportunities.

Day 5: Return Journey Home

After another wonderful breakfast and cases have been loaded on to the coach, it is time to say goodbye to our hosts at Potters and head for home. There will be a comfort stop en-route, and you should be back in your local area by the evening.
