Your Holiday Centre

Aberdeenshire is a destination steeped in history, with miles and miles of rugged coastline, rolling countryside nestled between impressive mountains and Munros. With the buzzing 'Granite City' as its capital, this corner of Scotland is a land of vast national parks, rare beasts and accessible experiences.

There are 165 miles of outstanding coastline where the night sky is sometimes lit by the Northern Lights.

Aberdeen is known for its granite architecture. For a place long associated with heavy industry, Aberdeen is certainly easy on the eye. It enjoys a spectacular location, fringed by the North Sea and framed to the south and north by the rivers Dee and Don.

Elegant granite architecture is warmed by pockets of flora. The city has invested heavily in its museums and parks, with new and improved spaces to explore.

Tour Itinerary

Day 1: Depart Local Area

After boarding your luxury coach, we travel north with comfort stops en-route. Still heading north, we cross the border into Scotland and head to Lockerbie and the Dryfesdale Country House Hotel where we will spend our first night with half board. On arrival we have porterage. Evening dinner is a three course, three choice menu, plus tea and coffee.

Day 2: Arrive at hotel

After breakfast we head to Aberdeen and our hotel. Here we will spend the next 5 nights with dinner, bed & breakfast. On arrival there will be tea/coffee while your cases are taken to your rooms. Settle in then to dinner.

Day 3: Pitmedden Garden & Museum of Farming Life

After a leisurely breakfast we travel north to Pitmedden Garden and the Museum of Farming Life. This 17th century walled garden contains over 30,000 bedding plants, 6 miles of clipped box hedging and over 200 fruit trees. The garden is split over three levels and at the heart of the property is a formal walled parterre garden filled with an array of colourful plants. The adjacent museum brings to life the agricultultural heritage of the local area, where you can admire an extensive range of agricultural artefacts. We then journey west to the village of Oldmeldrum for our lunchtime stop before making the short drive to Haddo House & Garden. Visit the delightful terrace garden with flower beds, lovely borders and fountain. A magnificent avenue of lime trees lead to adjacent Haddo Country Park, with lakes, monuments and wildlife.

Day 4: Day at Leisure

Today you are free to explore Aberdeen at your leisure. Perhaps visit the Maritime Museum, art gallery or the City of Aberdeen Distillery. The Winter Gardens at Duthie Park are also well worth a visit and admission is free.

Day 5: Highland Cattle at Crathes

After breakfast we travel a short way to the Aberdeen Highland cattle on the Leys Estate at Crathes. We will take a tour around a working farm, (suitable footwear for a working farm) meet these beautiful Highland cows, learn about their history and hear stories about life on a Scottish farm. The tour is followed by a tasting of Aberdeenshire Highland beef with refreshments of tea, coffee and Scottish shortbread. This afternoon we head to the pretty harbour town of Stonehaven. We take a break here for you to explore at leisure. The Stonehaven Tolbooth Museum is the oldest building in the town with its fascinating history of a former courthouse and jail. Maybe just sit and take in the view of Dunnottar Castle perched high on the cliffs just south of the town. We then make our way back to the hotel by way of the coastal road.

Day 6: Depart for Lockerbie

After all the luggage has been packed and loaded onto the coach we say farewell to our hosts at the hotel and retrace our steps to our last overnight hotel at Lockerbie. There will be comfort stops on the way. Settle in before dinner.

Day 7: Day of departure

After breakfast we head for home. There will be comfort stops on the way and we should arrive back at your local area mid to late evening.
