Your Accommodation

Rosemundy House Hotel

St Agnes, Cornwall, TR5 0UF.
Tel: 01872 552101.

The hotel has been a favourite of ours since we first visited in the year 2000. This very private hotel has been family run for years and has a very relaxing and comfortable air about it.

Beautiful quiet lounges for relaxing, superb Tom Noggi Restaurant with excellent cuisine and well equipped comfortable bedrooms with bath or shower. Set in its own grounds in the centre of St Agnes.

The village is set back from the cliffs by 3/4 mile; Trevaunance Cove is the nearest thing to a sheltered harbour that this inhospitable coast affords. Strewn with old mine workings, copper and tin ore were once shipped from the cove.

Tour Itinerary

Day 1: Depart Local Area

After boarding your luxury coach, your holiday has now started. You start your journey by travelling westward with stops en-route for lunch. Continuing your journey through beautiful countryside to the Cornish town of St Agnes and the Rosemundy House Hotel where you shall spend the next 5 nights with dinner, bed and breakfast.

Day 2: Port Isaac

Today we spend time on the north Cornish coast. We travel to Port Isaac, a traditional fishing village with a vibrant local community and home to the TV series Doc Martin starring Martin Clunes. It's a truly picturesque village with narrow winding streets lined with whitewashed cottages that head down to the harbour where you can watch local fishermen landing their daily catch of fish, crab and lobsters. (It's downhill from coach drop off point) From here we travel to the Healy's Cider Farm. Healy's is a working cider farm steeped in history, which has been brewing award-winning ciders, wines, and fruit juices for over 25 years. We then return back to the hotel to relax before dinner.

Day 3: Land's End & St Ives

Land's End is mainland Britain's most south-westerly point and one of the country's most famous landmarks. From the 200 foot high granite cliffs that rise out of the Atlantic Ocean you can gaze across to the Longships Lighthouse, the Isles of Scilly twenty eight miles away and beyond that, North America. Returning via St Ives where, until her death, Barbara Hepworth was the leading light in a famous artists community that lived and worked in this attractive and very popular fishing village. Quaint old houses and winding alleys cluster beneath the 120ft rough-hewn granite spire of the church, a fine building dating from 15th century. From here we return back to the hotel.

Day 4: Trebar Gardens

Today you visit the beautiful Trebar Gardens. Experience the magical essence of their sub-tropical Cornish garden, steeped in heritage, creativity and the spirit of innovation. Four miles of footpaths wind through dazzling exotic planting, transporting you from a little corner of England to sunnier climes. With a private beach, and the countless secret corners waiting to be discovered in the garden, it offers the ideal escape for all ages. With a unique outdoor theatre, Trebar is the perfect destination for peaceful solitude.

Day 5: Bodmin Jail & Truro

This morning you will take a trip to Bodmin Jail (included). As with most old prisons, Bodmin Jail has a dark history. 55 executions took place within its formidable walls for crimes such as rape, murder and stealing. Eight of these were woman. You can immerse yourself in Cornwall's Dark History in the new 'Dark Walk' with state of the art theatrical effects that bring some of the grimmest stories vividly to life. There is also a cafe and shop on site. This afternoon you head to Truro. Centre stage is Truro Cathedral with its impressive gothic towers dominating the skyline. In its shadow, a warren of compact streets is home to an impressive array of independent traders. From boutiques to bookshops and designer interiors to delicatessens, this great little city offers a unique shopping experience. The cafe culture is pretty impressive too, with hip coffee houses, artisan ice creameries and cocktail bars dotted across the centre. Later we return to the hotel.

Day 6: Day of Departure

After a hearty breakfast and cases have been loaded onto the coach. It is time to say farewell to your hosts at the Rosemundy House Hotel. Retracing your steps, with comfort stops en-route. You will arrive in your local area, late afternoon early evening.
