Tour Itinerary

Day 1: Depart Local Area

After boarding your luxury coach, we start our journey by travelling to Bressingham Steam & Gardens. What better way to explore the beautiful gardens, woodlands and countryside of Bressingham than by climbing aboard one of their narrow gauge passenger trains. Lots to see and do here. Time for lunch before continuing our journey to Norwich and our hotel. On arrival at our Mercure Hotel Norwich there will be tea/coffee and biscuits whilst your luggage is taken to your rooms. Time to settle in before dinner.

Day 2: Bure Valley Railway and Cruise

Today we combine a nostalgic steam train ride with a cruise on the Norfolk Broads. We join the Bure Valley Railway at Aylsham for the 9 mile ride to Wroxham. At Wroxham we join the boat for a cruise on the Broads. On our way back to the hotel we travel through some of the delightful Broads villages, such as Woodbastwick, with its diminutive green and thatched cottages, Time to relax before dinner.

Day 3: Cromer and the Poppy Line

After a leisurely breakfast we set off to Cromer, perched on the very edge of the north Norfolk coast. It is famous for its tasty crabs, wide open beaches and a traditional pier. It has a lighthouse and a proud tradition of RNLI service. It has been said that the lifeboat service is the lifeblood of the town and the Henry Blogg Museum offers a great insight into the service's past history. After a stop here, we continue to Sheringham where we enjoy another train ride. A steam train on the Poppy Line from Sheringham to Holt, which is a pretty Georgian market town with lots of little alleyways to explore. We head back to our hotel to relax before dinner.

Day 4: Houghton Hall & Gardens

Today we visit Houghton Hall & Gardens, built for Britain's first Prime Minister, Sir Robert Walpole, in the 1720s. Houghton Hall is now the home of the 7th Marques of Cholmondeley - a descendent of Sir Robert Walpole and his family. The hall is set in extensive parkland, with its famous white fallow deer, an award winning Walled Garden and the Model Soldier Museum (the world's largest private collection of model soldiers). There is also a cafe and gift shop. We then return back to our hotel.

Day 5: Depart for Home

After breakfast and cases have been loaded onto the coach, we say farewell to our hotel and head for home. En-route we will stop at Bury St Edmonds, surrounded by countryside with 1,000 years of history, Bury St Edmunds is the home of Saint Edmund, the original patron Saint of England. In Medieval times, The Abbey of St Edmund was one of the richest, largest and most powerful Benedictine monasteries in England. The Abbey was dissolved in 1539 and Edmund's final resting place is a great mystery. Arriving back late afternoon, early evening.
