Schlusselfeld is in the southern part of the Bamberg district of Germany and is surrounded by picturesque hills. The town has a rich history with numerous historical buildings, such as the town parish church of St. Johannes Baptist or Thurnau Castle from the 18th century. The Franconian Open-Air Museum Fladungen with its faithfully reproduced half-timbered houses, and the Banz Monastery from the 11th century. Even in rainy weather, there is plenty to discover in Schlusselfeld: Visit the museum of medieval town history or enjoy a cup of coffee in one of the cosy cafes. Schlusselfeld is worth a visit at any time of year.

The rooms are spread over two separate buildings, which are only 100 meters apart. All are modern rooms with en-suite, hairdryer, TV, radio and free Wi-Fi.
There is a breakfast buffet with regional specialities.
The restaurant serves Franconian cuisine and seasonal dishes.


Tour Itinerary
Day 1: Depart Dover
After boarding your coach, you make your way to Dover for our morning DFDS ferry crossing. There is a meal voucher included for food and a drink. We travel through France and Belgium with comfort stops, to Liege and our overnight hotel, with dinner, bed and breakfast.
Day 2: Depart for Germany
After breakfast, we make our way from Belgium into Germany and on to our hotel in Schlusselfeld, Bavaria. There will be stops en-route for food and drink. On arrival, there will be porterage. At dinner, there will be a welcome drink, and tea/coffee after a Franconian-themed meal.
Day 3: Wurzburg
After breakfast, we set off through the Franconian vineyards for a full day in the beautiful city of Wurzburg, with a 60-minute guided walking tour of the old city, with an English-speaking guide. It is known for lavish baroque and rococo architecture. Later we will experience Juliusspital Winery, with a 60-minute guided tour of the winery, which also includes a glass of wine. Later, we return to the hotel to relax before dinner, followed by a wine tasting of five different wines.
Day 4: Nuremberg
Today, after breakfast, we set off for Nuremberg, the largest city in Bavaria, with a surrounding wall and 80 towers. The Nazis chose Nuremberg as the venue for their annual rallies including the most notoriously successful rally of 1926. Here we will have a 90-minute guided walking tour of the city with an English-speaking guide. There will also be a guided tour of Franconian Brewery, including 2 glasses of beer. We return to the hotel to relax before dinner.
Day 5: Rothenburg
After breakfast, we head for the beautiful old Franconian imperial city of Rothenburg ob der Tauber, and one of the oldest towns to be crossed by the Romantic Road. It is surrounded by walls and towers, almost untouched since the 30-year war (1631). Here we shall have a fascinating guided walking tour to see its medieval architecture, preserved gate houses and the Gothic-style St Jacob's Church. You will have free time before we return to the hotel, where there will be entertainment after dinner.
Day 6: Depart for Liege
After an early breakfast and cases have been loaded on the coach, we say farewell to our hotel, and we will be retracing our steps to our overnight hotel at Liege with dinner and breakfast. There will be comfort stops on the way.
Day 7: Depart for Home
After breakfast and overnight bags have been loaded, we say farewell to our hosts at the hotel and make our way back to the Dunkirk ferry port for our afternoon ferry. There will be a meal voucher included for food and a drink. We should arrive back in our local area mid-evening.
