Yorkshire is a historic county in northern England. It's known for its Roman and Viking heritage, as well as its Norman castles and medieval abbeys. The largest area is North Yorkshire, stretching from the Pennines in the west to the northeast coast, covering nearly 3500 square miles. Known by the locals as 'God's own county', it is celebrated for its varied landscape, which is host to two national parks. The North York Moors, with its spectacular heritage coastline, is a joy to behold. The Yorkshire Dales with its high peaks, low valleys, flowing rivers and patchwork fields ribboned with dry stone walling, is simply outstanding. The county town of York, founded by the Romans, is home to 13th-century cathedral York Minster, Tudor houses and medieval walls. The interactive Jorvik Viking Centre recalls the area's 9th-century Norse occupation.

One of the 'treasure houses of England'. Harewood is a beautiful Georgian house sitting in the heart of the Yorkshire countryside. It was built between 1759 and 1771 for Edwin Lascelles, 1st Baron Harewood, and took 10 years to complete. Explore its ornate rooms filled with history and the 100 acres of exquisite gardens. Later returning to hotel.
