Tour Itinerary

Day 1: Depart Local Area

Leaving your local area, the journey starts with your morning ferry from Dover to Calais. A meal voucher will be given to you for use on board for a main meal and a drink. Making your way from Calais, you travel through France with comfort stops to arrive at our hotel in Bougival. Time to settle in before dinner.

Day 2: Versailles

After breakfast, we depart for the Palace of Versailles. Since 1979, the Palace has been listed as a World Heritage site and is one of the greatest achievements in French 17th-century art. It was Louis XIII's old hunting lodge, which was transformed and extended by his son Louis XIV, when he installed the court and government there in 1682. A succession of kings continued to embellish the Palace up until the French Revolution. Entry is to the Palace and the whole estate of Versailles. Later this afternoon, we return to the hotel.

Day 3: Paris Tour

This morning, we head into the city of Paris to meet our guide for a panoramic coach tour of the city. Seeing some of the stunning sights of the city, like the Eiffel Tower, Notre Dame and the Louvre, to name just a few. Later, after the guide leaves us, you will have free time to explore by yourself. Returning to the hotel to rest before dinner.

Day 4: Chateau de Chantilly

This morning, we depart the hotel and head to Chateau de Chantilly. This is one of the finest jewels in the crown of France's cultural heritage. It is the work of Henri d'Orleans, Duke of Aumale, son of the last King of France, Louis-Philippe. This prince, who is the greatest collector of his time, made Chantilly the showcase for his countless masterpieces and precious manuscripts. The Chateau survived through the centuries and remains as it was when the duke gave it as a gift to the Institut de France in 1886, making it the perfect place to take a journey back in time to the heart of a princely residence. The series of rooms housing the duke's collection is called the 'Conde Museum'.

This afternoon, you can try your hand at the Chantilly whipped cream workshop.

After a memorable day, we return to the hotel.

Day 5: Return Home

After an early breakfast, we depart our hotel and make our way once again back through France to Dunkirk ferry port for our afternoon ferry. There will be a meal voucher included for food and a drink. We should arrive back in our local area mid-evening.
