Tour Itinerary
Day 1: Depart Local Area
Step aboard your luxury coach as you start your journey to Salford Quays. There will be ample stops en-route for comfort and lunch. Arriving at the Copthorne Hotel, where you will spend the next four nights with dinner, bed & breakfast.
Day 2: Cruise Salford Quays & Leisure Time
This morning, hop aboard the Princess Katherine for a boat trip around the Salford Quays and the Manchester ship canal. This 60-minute river tour gives you an insight into the history of the area and a unique view of Manchester, including Media City, Old Trafford and the disused dry docks. On your return, you have the rest of the day to explore Salford Quays.
Day 3: RHS Garden Bridgewater
This morning, we head for the wonderful RHS Garden Bridgewater. The former site of Worsley New Hall is a heritage landscape that has been transformed into an iconic RHS garden, an unbelievable 'oasis of calm'. A landscape architect, the Bridgewater team and award-winning garden designers have brought 'gardens within a garden' to life by blending history with world-class horticulture.
On our return, we will drive through Worsley, a picturesque town. Beautiful black and white buildings and have one of the oldest dry-docks in the country. It is famous for the Bridgewater Canal, its mock Tudor buildings and Worsley Delph. The canal linked the Duke of Bridgewater's mines in Worsley to Manchester, enabling enough coal to reach the city centre to kick-start the industrial revolution.
Day 4: Concorde Tour
Today we have a supersonic visit to Concorde at the Runway Visitors Park, Manchester Airport. Enjoy a unique experience on a 90-minute fully guided tour of one of the most iconic aircraft in history, with time under the wings, time on board, including the flight deck, and a personalised commemorative certificate. The Runway Visitor Park is also home to several other retired planes, which offer a glimpse of what flying was like in the 1960's & 70's.
Day 5: Depart for Home
After breakfast and cases have been loaded onto the coach, we say farewell to our hosts at the Copthorne Hotel and return home via the Peak District. There will be stops for comfort and lunch. You should arrive in your local area late afternoon or early evening.
