Your Accommodation

Rosemundy House Hotel

St Agnes, Cornwall, TR5 0UF.
Tel: 01872 552101.

The hotel has been a favourite of ours since we first visited in the year 2000. This very private hotel has been family run for years and has a very relaxing and comfortable air about it.

Beautiful quiet lounges for relaxing, superb Tom Noggi restaurant with excellent cuisine, well equipped comfortable bedrooms with bath or shower, which are all shapes and sizes, which give the hotel its character.

Set in its own grounds in the centre of St Agnes. The village is set back from the cliffs by three quarters of a mile; Trevaunance Cove is the nearest thing to a sheltered harbour that this inhospitable coast affords. Strewn with old mine workings, copper and tin ore were once shipped from the cove.

Tour Itinerary

Day 1: Depart Local Area

After boarding your luxury coach, your holiday now begins. You start your journey by travelling westward with stops en-route for lunch. Continuing your journey through beautiful countryside, to the Cornish town of St Agnes and the Rosemundy House Hotel where you shall spend the next five nights with dinner, bed and breakfast.

Day 2: Polperro & Fowey

Leaving after breakfast you travel to the beautiful and scenic villages of Polperro and Fowey along the Cornish coast. In Polperro it is easy to step back in time in what is a largely unspoilt fishing village. Pretty cottages cling to the steep hillsides around a small harbour, beloved by artists over the years. The River Pol runs through Polperro creating its idyllic appearance, as well as the tightly packed ancient fishermen's houses which survive almost untouched, its quaint harbour and attractive coastline. We then head to Fowey, tucked away on the picturesque coast, a small historic town filled with narrow streets clustered around the harbour inlet. The town is located at the mouth of the River Fowey before running into the English Channel. The River Fowey is the centre of this traditional town creating the beautiful landscape. We will then return to the hotel to relax before dinner.

Day 3: Eden Project

Today is a full day's visit to the Eden Project. Depart after breakfast for the Eden Project. (Admission included). Millions have already visited this 35-acre crater overlooking St Austell Bay, a phenomenal success. The awesome geodesic structures are the world's largest greenhouses, accommodating a fascinating array of plants from everywhere - tropics, rainforests, Oceania, the Mediterranean - and outside, whatever grows under the warm Cornish sun. And not to be overlooked is the Eden Project's role as a new scientific institute and forum for the 21st Century, a centre of communication, education and participation. After a great day out, we return to our hotel for our evening meal.

Day 4: Porthleven - Marazion - St Ives

Today we have a circular tour of south Cornwall. Porthleven is now a fishing port, it was a harbour of refuge when this part of the Cornish coastline was infamous for wrecks in the days of sail. Then on to Marazion. a vast sandy shoreline within Mount's Bay. The focus of this charming coastline is St Michael's Mount and the fascinating cobbled causeway that leads to the legendary island. St Michael's Mount is one of the oldest chartered towns in the UK. With a small community, medieval castle, and church, visitors can access the island by boat or on foot at low tide when the ancient stone causeway, constructed in 1425, is revealed. From here we cross to St Ives. Wander through the maze of narrow cobbled streets, independent shops and fisherman's cottages in the heart of St Ives.

Day 5: Day at Leisure

A day of leisure. You can wander into the village which has a museum on the history of St Agnes, or walk down the steep walk to the harbour, but remember you must walk back! This afternoon you will have a cream tea in the hotel.

Day 6: Day of Departure

After a hearty breakfast and cases have been loaded onto the coach, it is time to say farewell to your hosts at the Rosemundy House Hotel. Retracing your steps, with comfort stops en-route, you will arrive in your local area, late afternoon early evening.
