Tour Itinerary

Day 1. Depart Local Area

After everyone has boarded the coach, we make our way to Dover for our morning ferry to Calais. When we arrive in Calais, we make our way to the Reims Mercure Parc Expositions for our overnight stop with dinner and breakfast. There will be comfort stops on the way. Overnight bags can be taken.

Day 2. St Gervais Mont Blanc

Today we continue our journey to Saint Gervais. We travel through France down to Geneva; there will be ample comfort stops on the way. We then continue on to Saint Gervais and our hotel, where we will spend the next five nights half-board.

Day 3. Chamonix

Chamonix is a vibrant town known as both a world-class ski resort and a mountaineering destination. Situated in the Haute-Savoie region of France and dominated by the incredible Aiguilles de Chamonix mountain chain peaking at the top of Mont Blanc (4810m). With these vast, jagged mountains towering over the town, the scenery here is arguably the most spectacular in the French Alps. The snow-capped peaks soar into the bright blue sky; ancient glaciers sweep down towards the valley floor and waterfalls cascade through pine-covered hillsides. Time to enjoy what Chamonix has to offer.

Day 4. Annecy

Today we take a trip to the beautiful town of Annecy, known as the Venice of the Alps. This beautiful lakeside town features charming canals and narrow streets to explore. On Tuesdays the streets are lined with a bustling market. First, we take a boat ride on Lake Annecy for 1hr to see the beautiful surrounding mountains and small villages. Later you can explore the town and market, before we go back to the hotel.

Day 5. Yvoire & Boat Cruise

Today we travel to Lake Geneva and the lakeside village of Yvoire. A former 14th century stronghold and once a fishing village on the shores of Lake Geneva, this medieval town is must-see. Valuable 14th-century gates, ramparts, castle, square and tower still remain. You'll also notice the splendid gleaming bulbous bell tower of Saint Pancrace church. We will take a cruise on the lake for 1hr, when we return you can take a leisurely stroll through the narrow streets and discover Yvoire's pretty stone houses and its two harbours, and enjoy the beautiful views over the lake. There are many cafes for lunch or a drink. Later we return to the hotel.

Day 6. Day at Leisure

Enjoy a day at leisure today. Relax in the mountain air with views of the Dome de Miage and Mont Joly Mountains, or you may want to wander into the town centre. Alternatively take the Mont Blanc Tramway, which is opposite the hotel. You may also like to take the Ascenseur des Thermes lift, situated just below the hotel to the wonderful Mont Blanc thermal spa where you can spend a few hours enjoying the thermal waters and treatments available. (subject to opening times).

Day 7. Depart for Reims

Sadly its time to say farewell to our hosts at the hotel and head back into France to Reims for our last overnight at the Reims Mercure Parc Expositions hotel with dinner and breakfast.

Day 8. Depart for Calais

After breakfast and all overnight bags are loaded, we set off for the port and our ferry crossing back to Dover. You should be back to our area mid evening.
