Tour Itinerary

Day 1: Depart Local Area

Step aboard your luxury coach as you start your journey to Bournemouth. There will be stops en-route for comfort. We arrive at the Marsham Court Hotel, where you will spend the next four nights with dinner, bed and breakfast. On arrival there will be tea and coffee. Time to settle in before dinner.

Day 2: Highcliffe Castle

After breakfast we depart the hotel and take a short drive to Highcliffe Castle. This magnificent building, once lavishly furnished in the 18th-century French style, remained a family home until the 1950's. Two fires destroyed the rich interiors in the 1960's. The castle's renovated exterior is testimony to the remarkable skills of craftsmen and woman who carried out a huge repair and conservation programme in the 1990's. One of the building's former residents was Harry Gordon Selfridge - the founder of the London-based department store Selfridges. Mr Selfridge lived in the castle between 1916 and 1922 and is buried with his wife at St Mark's churchyard just across the road from the castle. This afternoon (time permitting) you head to Lymington, a coastal town. This colourful and vibrant town is an ancient seaport with a rich maritime history, and with so much to see and do. Learn about the rich heritage of the town, enjoy some retail therapy, treat yourself to delicious food and drink and relax by the water.

Day 3: Day at Leisure

Today is a free day for you to do whatever you would like to do. You may choose to walk on the beach, have a paddle, shop, visit the parks etc.

Day 4: Poole & Boat Cruise

Today we travel to Poole for a one-hour cruise around its spectacular natural harbour. Departing from Poole Quay, we enjoy a relaxing cruise past Sandbanks, the harbour's islands, the Isle of Purbeck and the busy harbour entrance. Along the way, the on-board commentary will point out places of interest and explain more about the harbour's history, wildlife and working port. After returning to Poole Quay, there will be free time to explore the historic town and harbour or enjoy refreshments before we return to the hotel.

Day 5: Depart for Home

After breakfast and your cases have been loaded onto the coach, we say goodbye to our hosts at the Marsham Court Hotel and start our journey home. We will stop en-route for lunch. Continuing our journey, we arrive back in our local area late afternoon, early evening.
