Mold is a town in Flintshire Wales, on the river Alyn. Set on the North Welsh coast offering a great variety of scenery with its spacious beaches and rugged cliffs, little fishing villages and secluded bays. It is the largest historic market town in this county. The town has developed around Mold Castle. An earthwork motte and bailey fortress probably founded by Robert de Montalt around the year 1140.

Tour Itinerary

Day 1: Depart Local Area

After boarding your luxury coach, we head west to Mold, with comfort stops en-route. Arriving at the Beaufort Park Hotel, where you will spend the next four nights with dinner bed and breakfast. On arrival there will be tea/coffee and biscuits. Settle in for a fun-packed week.

Day 2: Ffestiniog Railway

After breakfast, we travel along the coast to Abergele and then head to the Conwy Valley, Llanrwst, and Betws-y-Coed where we take a break. We then travel over the Crimea Pass to Blaenau Ffestiniog. Here we join the famous Ffestiniog Railway for a spectacular ride over the mountains to Porthmadog. Time to explore and have lunch before we make our way through Snowdonia National Park to Lake Bala. We travel along the lake shore to the delightful Bala Lake Railway.

Day 3: Chester

Today we head to the historic city of Chester. This historic city offers lots to see and do. You can explore the unique 'Rows' of two-tiered shops or take a stroll around the city walls, meander down to the River Dee, or maybe enjoy lunch in a riverside pub. Later returning to the hotel.

Day 4: Llangollen Railway & Canal Cruise

Today we travel through some lovely Welsh scenery, including the spectacular Horseshoe Pass, to the Dee Valley where we join the Rheilfford Llangollen Railway for a journey on a nostalgic train. We will also take a cruise on the Stream in the Sky - the Llangollen Canal as we glide gently over the country's biggest navigable aqueduct. After which, we return to hotel.

Day 5: Depart for Home

After breakfast and all cases have been loaded onto the coach, we say farewell to our hosts at the Beaufort Park Hotel and start our journey home. With comfort stops en-route we shall arrive in our local area by late afternoon.
