Doncaster is a city in South Yorkshire. Named after the River Don, it is the administrative centre of the City of Doncaster metropolitan borough, and is the second largest settlement in South Yorkshire after Sheffield. Noted for its racing and railway history, it is situated in the Don Valley on the western edge of the Humber Head, and east of the Pennines. On 28 October 2021, Doncaster Metropolitan Borough Council announced its bid for Doncaster to become a City for the Queen's Platinum Jubilee. Alongside seven other areas. Doncaster succeeded in its bid to gain city status. The city status applies to the whole metropolitan borough of Doncaster. Doncaster formally became a city when a ceremony took place on 9 November 2022 as part of a royal visit.

The 3 star Hex Wildlife Hotel at Yorkshire Wildlife Park in Doncaster offers something different.

Tour Itinerary
Day 1: Depart for Doncaster
After boarding our luxury coach, we make our way north to Doncaster and the Hex Wildlife Hotel. There will be comfort stops en-route for lunch. When we arrive at the hotel, we will have a meet and greet at the coach with welcome letters, wildlife park tickets and key cards. Porterage is included. Then a short walk to main building.
Day 2: Wildlife Park
Today you have a full day to experience 'no ordinary animal adventure' at the Yorkshire Wildlife Park. You can also get up close. Conservation is at the heart of everything they do! Discover truly incredible animals on the wonderful walk-through wildlife adventure including lions, tigers, leopards, rhinos, lemurs, monkeys, zebras, giraffes, polar bears, sea lions and much more. The Yorkshire Hive shopping village is adjacent to the hotel.
Day 3: Lincoln
Today we visit the City of Lincoln. Lincoln is a beautiful historic city full of heritage and culture - renowned for its medieval heritage, including the 11th-century Lincoln Castle (holding a Magna Carta) and the stunning Lincoln Cathedral, Roman ruins, and medieval architecture. Wander along the picturesque, cobbled streets and take in the spectacular sights of Lincoln's magnificent historic architecture. Later returning to the hotel.
Day 4: Brodsworth Hall & Gardens
The Hall was built in the 1860's and the grand ground floor rooms still recall the house's Victorian heyday, with glittering chandeliers and marble statues. The last owner, Sylvia Grant-Dalton, fought a losing battle against subsidence and leaking roofs, the mansion remains virtually as she left it. The Victorian kitchen with its impressive cooking range and the cosier 'Aga kitchen' and scullery with the original housekeeper's chair. The extensive gardens have been restored over the last 30yrs, with brilliant bedding, formal topiary, a fern-filled dell and quirky garden buildings. There is also a cafe onsite.
Day 5: Depart for Home
After all the suitcases have been packed and loaded onto the coach, we say goodbye to our hosts at the Hex Wildlife Hotel and head for home. With comfort stops on the way, we arrive back in our local area late afternoon.
