Your Holiday Centre

Calella is perfect for enjoying the Costa Maresme's coastline. As you would expect, much of the town's entertainment is geared towards beach life.

Away from the beach, the old town is classic Spain. Winding alleys lined with whitewashed houses lead to a pretty town square, home to markets and festivals throughout the year. Foodies can tuck in to some truly authentic Spanish and Catalan dishes served up in the many family-owned restaurants dotted around the town.

Calella packs a lot into its petite size, with a delightful town centre and a series of pristine blue flag beaches, as well as historic architecture, first rate cultural institutions, and reams of natural beauty.

Located on the northern coast of Catalonia, this resort town sits some 58km northeast of Barcelona, excellent for a day trip for those staying in the regional capital.

After a long journey, it's time to relax. Brunch is served in the hotel between 8am and 12 midday every day. The rest of the day you can do as you will. Maybe walk into town and explore. The first cold weather invites you to wrap up warm and walk around the city. The smell of burning wood from the fireplaces, the first balconies adorned with enchanting lights. The soft aromas of soups, stews, honey and rosemary fill the streets of this vibrant city, and little by little, everywhere we can breathe the Christmas spirit. December comes and Christmas is already here! The city of Calella, rich in tradition and culture, is prepared to shine out and welcome the warmth of Christmas: traditional fairs, Nativity scenes, Christmas carols and festive events for the whole family. In the hotel there is also the Golden Hour (50% discount on all drinks and snacks everyday between 2pm and 5pm). Relax before a Gala dinner which includes wine and Champagne, which is then followed by entertainment.

Day 4: Christmas Day - Day at Leisure

Brunch is from 8am - 12pm. Today there is a special Christmas Day Lunch served with wine and Champagne. Calella also has a tradition on Christmas Day called Christmas Day Calella Beach Splash. This is where you can take part if you wish, but everyone gathers on the beach in their swimwear wearing a father Christmas hat and at a given time all rush into the sea. A great spectacle for Christmas Day. (Hope it's not cold). In front of the hotel is the Beach Club of the hotel Volga. Fully equipped with lounge chairs, umbrellas, a bar, restaurant and entertainment. Time to relax before your evening meal and entertainment.

Day 5: Montserrat Monastery

Today, you take a drive up the steep, winding mountain roads to the Benedictine monastery of Montserrat? Located near the top of the 4,000-foot rocky mountain range, it is home to about 80 monks. The Basilica and Monastery is Catalonia's most important religious retreat. Inside this fascinating monastery is a statue of the Virgin of Montserrat, one of the few black Madonna's in Europe and its Catalonia's most important religious retreat. The basilica also holds one of the monastery's most noted attractions, the 50-member EscolanĂa, one of the oldest and most renowned boys' choirs in Europe, dating from the 13th century. You return back via the beautiful mountain scenery to Calella.
