Hungerford is on the River Dun, the westernmost town in Berkshire, on the border with Wiltshire. It is in the North Wessex Downs Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The Kennet and Avon Canal separates Hungerford from what might be described as the town's only suburb, the hamlet of Eddington.
Hungerford is best known today as a centre for antique shops and fairs. The town is also home to other unique shops and boutiques, where you can lose yourself for a delightful few hours. There's also a range of warm and friendly pubs, cheery tea shops and restaurants to tempt you. The unusual yet extraordinary Ashdown House nestles in a beautiful valley not far from the town.

Littlecote House, set in 113 acres of gardens and rolling parkland, is located near Hungerford in the Royal county of Berkshire. Built in the mid-1500s, this beautiful Grade I listed Tudor manor has a truly unique story.
History is literally on your doorstep: the stunning location has played host to occupying Romans, a Tudor tryst and even a Civil War army. The grounds contain an ornate Roman mosaic floor and settlement remains. Henry VIII courted Jane Seymour here and the D-Day landings were planned within the house. England's last remaining Cromwellian Chapel in a private house is also here and the property offers many more historical jewels for you to explore at your leisure.
All of this comes with outstanding service, a restaurant that has been awarded 2 AA Rosettes, live entertainment every night, and a host of activities from tennis to air-rifle shooting. Day 1: Depart Local Area
After boarding your luxury coach, your holiday has now started. We start our journey by travelling South with stops en-route for lunch. Continuing your journey through beautiful countryside, to the town of Hungerford and Warner's Littlecote House where you shall spend the next 4 nights with entertainment, dinner, bed and breakfast.
Day 2 & 4: Days of Leisure
Time to enjoy the facilities of Littlecote, or take the opportunity to completely relax and unwind.
Day 3: Lacock Abbey, Fox Talbot Museum & Village
On arrival in Lacock village you could be forgiven for thinking you've just been transported back to the past. The village is famous for its picturesque streets, historic buildings and more recently as a TV and film location. The village's most famous appearances include the BBC's 'Pride and Prejudice', 'Cranford', 'Downton Abbey', and the films 'Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince' and 'Wolfman'. The Abbey, located at the heart of the village within its own woodland grounds, is a quirky country house of various architectural styles, built upon the foundations of a former nunnery. Experience the atmosphere of the medieval rooms and cloister court, giving a sense of the Abbey's monastic past. (Entrance included.)
Day 5: Depart for Home
After a hearty breakfast and cases have been loaded onto the coach. It is time to say farewell to your hosts at the Littlecote House Hotel. Retracing your steps, with comfort stops en-route. You will arrive in your local area, late afternoon - early evening.
Your driver will do their professional best to ensure that you enjoy this tour. It will be at their discretion to rearrange the itinerary to better the tour for your comfort.
