The historic twin towns of East and West Looe are located in South East Cornwall and offer everything from beautiful sandy beaches, accessible walking routes, fishing trips, unique boutiques, restaurants and bars. The facilities of the town just behind the beach make for a relaxing day.
Just beyond the main beach, and also at west Looe, the golden sand gives way to rocks and rock pools. Here a whole new world is awaiting those who like exploring the individual pools changing with every tide. Many boatman offer trips around the bay or along the river with a chance of seeing a seal or a dolphin playing amongst the waves. If you take a trip on a glass bottom boat, who knows what you might see?
For that little bit of history, the towns museum provides a wide spectrum of life in the town over the past 1000 years or so. Further along the coast enjoy the old world charm of picturesque Polperro through to the sheltered river valleys of the Tamar and Fowey.

Day 1: Depart Local Area
After boarding your luxury coach, your holiday has now started. You start your journey by travelling South west with stops en-route for lunch. Continuing your journey through beautiful countryside, to the Cornish town of Looe and the Portbyhan Hotel where you shall spend the next 4 nights with dinner, bed and breakfast.
Day 2: Day at Leisure & Cream Tea
After a Cornish breakfast you have a day of leisure. Explore the harbour or surrounding area or relax and enjoy. This afternoon there will be a real Cornish cream tea at the hotel.
Day 3: Mevagissey and the Lost Gardens of Heligan
Today you shall first visit the lovely harbour of Mevagissey. Mevagissey is an attractive old town which was once the centre of Cornwall’s pilchard fishery and which still boasts a working harbour, with a few dozen small fishing boats. It has a tradition of boat building dating back to 1745. Many of the old buildings, constructed of cob and slate, bear testimony to a time when the large shoals of pilchards were the livelihood of the whole village. In the narrow streets are many gift shops, craft workshops, galleries, cafes and pubs. There are many fish restaurants in Mevagissey and, of course, plenty of fish and chip shops! Many of the latter were once the haunts of Cornish smugglers. Then on to The Lost Gardens of Heligan, (Entrance Included) these magnificent award winning gardens are thought to be the largest garden restoration project in Europe!! The Lost Gardens of Heligan consist of over 80 acres of magnificent gardens, which until 1991 were lost and forgotten under seventy years of ivy, bramble, laurel and fallen timber. In 1990 the inherited owner of the estate leased the gardens to Tim Smith who took on the process of restoring the historic gardens to their former glory, becoming one of Europe's largest garden restoration projects. We then return back to the hotel to relax before dinner.
Day 4: Polperro & Fowey
Leaving after breakfast you travel to the beautiful and scenic villages of Polperro and Fowey along the Cornish coast, in Polperro it is easy to step back in time in what is a largely unspoilt fishing village. Pretty cottages cling to the steep hillsides around a small harbour, beloved by artists over the years. The River Pol runs through Polperro creating its idyllic appearance as well as the tightly packed ancient fishermen's houses which survive almost untouched, its quaint harbour and attractive coastline. We then head to Fowey, tucked away on the picturesque coast, a small historic town filled with narrow streets clustered around the harbour inlet. The town is located at the mouth of the River Fowey before running into the English Channel. The River Fowey is the centre of this traditional town creating the beautiful landscape. We will then return to the hotel to relax before dinner.
