The Great Northern Hotel prides itself on preparing wonderful dishes in its Tir Connaill Restaurant, which affords spectacular views of the surrounding area with magic walks on the Wild Atlantic Way.
All Rooms are equipped to make guests feel at home. Each includes en-suite bathroom, direct dial telephone, TV, Wi-Fi, hairdryer and tea and coffee making facilities.
It also has a cosy bar that serves a full a la carte menu throughout the day. Leisuire facilities include gym, swimming pool, sauna and jacuzzi.
Day 1: Depart Local Area
After boarding your luxury coach, we make our way to Wales and the port of Holyhead and our Ferry to Dublin Port. On arrival we make our way to our overnight hotel on the outskirts of Dublin, where we will spend 1 night with dinner bed & breakfast.
Day 2: Depart for Bundoran
After breakfast we continue our journey across Ireland stopping at a lovely town on the way and a visit to a place of interest (town and place to be confirmed). We continue our journey to the Great Northern Hotel in Bundoran, where we will spend the next 4 nights' half board. On arrival there will be tea/coffee while your cases are taken to your rooms.
Day 3: Day at Leisure
Today is a free day to do as you will. If the weather is nice, take a stroll along the cliff or the beach, or just relax after your 2 days of travel, or use the facilities (gym, swimming pool, sauna and jacuzzi.)
Day 4: Ulster American Folk Park
After breakfast, we head to the Ulster American Folk Park which is an open-air museum just outside Omagh, in County Tyrone. Immerse yourself in the story of the brave emigrants who made the journey across the Atlantic to America hundreds of years ago. Enter thatched cottages and meet costumed characters who will show you traditional crafts tell you a few stories and maybe even share a bit of their good food. Board a full-scale emigrant ship to experience the conditions faced by many as they set sail for a new life in America. With 30 buildings and exhibits to explore, the Ulster American Folk Park is a wonderfully unique experience.
Day 5: London Derry & Walking Tour
After a hearty breakfast, we head off to Derry for our tour of this walled city. We start with a guided tour of the Town Hall and council chambers, followed by a walking tour of the famous Derry Walls, and Peace Bridge. Some free time to explore or shop or visit the museums. We return back to our hotel to use the facilities or relax before dinner.
Day 6: Depart for Dublin
After breakfast we depart for Dublin, stopping en-route at the Beleek Pottery before we continue onto Dublin for our last overnight hotel stay, including dinner (hotel to be confirmed).
Day 7: Depart for Home
After an early start, and when all cases have been loaded onto the coach we travel back to Dublin Port to catch the morning ferry crossing to Holyhead at 8.05am from Dublin Port. Breakfast will be on board (included). Arriving in Holyhead we make our way back through Wales with stops en-route. Arriving home early evening.
