Crieff is a little market town set amidst magnificent Perthshire scenery in the heart of Scotland. The region's breath-taking variety in scenery is simply splendid. From serene glens and endless expanses of forest to beautiful moors, rushing rivers and tumbling waterfalls.

Scotland's most iconic species can be observed here in their natural environment including the majestic red deer stags. Castle Menzies adds some history as it is a great Renaissance example of the transition in Scottish castles from rugged highland fortresses to mansion houses.

There are also lots of different walks and routes suitable for everyone. Whether you go for a drive through the lonely glens, walk the forest paths or just sit by a loch, Perthshire will amaze you!

Tour Itinerary

Day 1: Depart Local Area

After an early boarding on your luxury coach, we head north with comfort stops en-route, then cross the border into Scotland. Still travelling north we arrive at the Crieff Hydro Hotel where we will be spending the next 4 nights with dinner bed and breakfast. We enjoy a welcome tea or coffee on arrival while our cases are being taken to our rooms. You are then free to relax before dinner, which is a 3 course menu with 3 choices per course and tea/coffee after dinner.

Day 2: Day at Leisure

Today you can relax and enjoy the hotels facilities or wander through the grounds of the hotel.

Day 3: Forest Safari Experience

Today we head to Aberfeldy where we will take part in a morning Forest Safari Experience. Climb aboard the Land Rovers with our Safari Rangers and get close to nature to discover tracks, trails and witness beautiful views of Scotland’s Highlands. We take a short walk into the ancient Caledonian Pine Forest set at 1600ft in search of elusive Scottish wildlife such as the Red Squirrel and the Roe Deer. Binoculars and Telescopes are available to help look for the animals and we can also enjoy hot drinks, shortbread and a dram of Whisky. In the afternoon we take part in the Red Deer Encounter. From the shelter of the barn we can stroke, feed, and take photographs of the magnificent Red Deer. There will be a Safari Ranger who will tell you all about the animals’ life cycle, likes, dislike, habits and personalities. After getting up close and personal with the Red Deer we head back to the hotel to relax before dinner.

Day 4: Wallace Monument & Whisky Distillery

After breakfast we travel to The National Wallace Monument at Stirling, one of Scotland's most distinctive landmarks overlooking the scene of Scotland's victory at the battle of Stirling Bridge. This is a tower standing on the shoulder of the Abbey Craig, a hilltop overlooking Stirling town. It commemorates Sir William Wallace, a 13th-century Scottish hero. The tower has three levels which tells the history of William Wallace. It has a spiral staircase with a total of 246 steps from top to bottom, broken by each level. This afternoon we have included a visit to Tullibardine Whisky Distillery. We then return to the hotel to relax before dinner.

Day 5: Depart for Home

After breakfast we say goodbye to our hosts at the hotel and head back down south. With comfort stops on route we arrive back in your local area early evening.

The driver/guide will do their professional best to ensure that you enjoy this tour. It will be at their discretion to rearrange the itinerary to better the tour for your comfort.
